Anti Foaming Agent

An Anti Foaming Agent is a chemical additive that lowers or prevents foam production in industrial process liquids. Defoamers remove existing foam, whereas anti foamers inhibit the production of new foam. Insoluble oils, polydimethylsiloxanes and other silicones, as well as some alcohols, stearates, and glycols, are often utilised agents. All in all, an Anti Foaming Agent alters the surface tension of a solution to decrease or prevent the development of foam in an industrial process.
